A flaw of some in-company leadership development programmes comes from the way in which they champion a prescribed list of ‘leadership behaviours’ that the organisation has identified as ‘desirable’. Such an approach may give would-be leaders a flavour of various qualities that have been identified in some successful leaders. However, that approach ignores the gifts of individual leaders; what is emerging for them in terms of their purpose and mission? What is authentic for them? And what is an authentic way for them to relate to the people around them?
I help leaders to gain clarity on their own purpose.
