I work as a face to face or virtual executive career coach with directors, CEOs, senior managers, consultants, tech workers and knowledge workers. Professionals I coach typically have a good level of experience in their field. My executive career coaching clients also include people from 'traditional' professions like doctors, engineers, lawyers and accountants. I also offer career coaching to people who aspire to such roles.
Why Work With an Executive Career Coach?
It’s estimated that during their lifetime professionals spend over 95,000 hours at work. On many days, work consumes over a third of a professional's waking hours. Work is a huge part of LIFE and if you’re unhappy in your work, you can feel down about everything.
Over time you may find yourself feeling less fulfilled in your professional career. Two factors often conspire to cause career dissatisfaction. Firstly, your organisation and your role and responsibilities may have evolved or changed. Secondly, you too may have changed; as you've grown and matured. As a result, you can start to feel that there's no longer a good fit between who you are now and the current reality of your role.
An executive career coach like me can work with you to identify and implement the changes you need to make to your career and working life, so that you feel excited about your work again. Executive career coaching can help you boost your career success and career fulfilment. Through working with me as your executive career coach, several things may happen. You may discover new ways to increase your career satisfaction in your current job. Career coaching may lead to you to get a new job, or completely change the way you work, or even enter a completely different profession.

We’ll have an exploratory session of TRANSFORMATIONAL executive career coaching – which is FREE. You’ll experience the executive career coaching relationship for yourself, so you’ll know how coaching with me feels for you.
I’ll then map out how bespoke executive career coaching with me will support your visions, dreams and goals to become reality and help you to make the changes you want to make.
When you’re happy with the plan we’ll proceed with a series of career coaching conversations. Below are some of the aspects we may look at :-
Reviewing your career journey to date, so that you understand not just the stages of your career but your decision-making processes along the way.
Deepening you self-awareness and self-knowledge including getting clear on your ‘career drivers’ – what motivates you in your career, and your ‘career values’ – what’s important to you in your career.
Analysing your skills.
Your 'higher values' around service and contribution, which for many people can be key to their long term career fulfillment.
In addition, we'll get creative! Creative thinking is a critical part of my executive career coaching. Creative thinking can help you to find new options and solutions to your current career challenges. Creative thinking can also help you to create and explore new career futures for yourself.
Psychometric Testing in Executive Career Coaching
I have concerns about how psychometric tests are sometimes used in executive career coaching. In the worst cases such tests can be used to ‘pigeon-hole’ people and limit their choices. Instead of helping you to 'open up' to new directions, you can end up feeling 'pressured' to continue on your well-worn track.
Your psychometric profile is NOT 'you'. Such profiles can only help you learn a little about some of your ‘preferences’ at work.
Psychometric tests can help you learn about the skills and talents you have used to date and the type of mindset and outlook you have had at work up to now.
Psychometric tests are generally less good at helping you identify hidden talents and potentials which you have not had a chance to employ in your work previously.
I may ask you to undertake some psychometric tests – but the outputs will be considered alongside a whole raft of other ‘data’ that we will gather during your executive career coaching sessions.
An executive career coach never tells you what to do. You know yourself and your career aspirations best. Executive career coaching provides a creative space where you can gain insight and develop your own ideas and plans. I will help you by:-
Listening to you with empathy and without judgment
Helping you to tap into more of your experience - mind, body and feelings.
Asking you powerful questions that will help you gain insight.
Challenging you to you raise your game so you achieve more than you thought possible.
Supporting you to build your confidence and courage to make changes.
Helping you generate new ideas so you have more options.
