I’m an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. This means that alongside my postgraduate diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapeutic Counselling ( Level 7), I have studied other schools of psychotherapy including Gestalt and Person-Centred. This means that I can draw on a wide range of approaches and tailor our work specifically to your needs.
The Psychosynthesis model can help you increase self-awareness of different aspects of personality and help integrate those aspects into personal experience. This in turn can help you choose more resourceful responses to potentially stress - or anxiety – inducing work situations. Such an approach can also help people to improve their work-life balance. As a transpersonal psychotherapy, Psychosynthesis is a model particular suited to exploring questions of meaning and purpose. This is because psychosynthesis values personal and spiritual growth as much as overcoming ‘symptoms’ of distress. In psychosynthesis counselling we may also consider the concepts of ‘love’ – our empathy and consideration for self and others, and ‘will’ – motivation and actions. By doing so we can gain further insight into the nature of the organisation we work in, our colleagues and ourselves. If it suits my clients, I use creative approaches including imagework and visualisations which can help them gain awareness and insight. In addition to my therapy qualifications I am a qualified executive coach, and have extensive experience in business and management. Clients tell me that my background business experience and knowledge makes them feel I understand their context and the types of pressure they experience and this helps us build rapport. I believe that establishing a non-judgemental space and a trusting therapeutic relationship are key to successful therapy. |
